Technical questions

My lamp with built-in LED module isn't working anymore, what now?
  1. Check the power supply: Safely verify if there is voltage at the connection point. If there's no voltage, this issue needs to be resolved first. Contact a certified electrician for assistance.
  2. Check the lamp settings: If there is voltage, ensure the lamp is turned on and not set to the lowest dimming level (if dimmable).
  3. Contact us for further assistance: If the fixture still doesn't work, we recommend contacting a service center near you.

Can my old lamp still be repaired?

Every product has an economic value, so it's very likely that your old lamp can be repaired. Whether the costs are acceptable for an old lamp, you can decide for yourself. Here are 2 options:

  1. You can send the lamp back to Steinhauer, but this must always be done through a service point. Consider double transport costs from the service point to the manufacturer and back, packaging costs, repair costs, and material costs. This can quickly amount to more than €120.00.

  2. The service point may be able and willing to repair the lamp themselves. You can negotiate the costs and repair time directly with the service point.

The light color of my lamp seems much whiter or yellower than when I bought it, why is that?

Many of our products allow for adjustment of the light color. How this works depends on the model. Here are a few options:

  • Dim to Warm: Press the dimmer button and the lamp will brighten or dim. Simultaneously, the light color changes.

  • Adjustable Light Color Lamp: Press the dimmer button twice and hold it down the second time. The light color will automatically become whiter or yellower. Release the button once the desired light color is achieved and do not touch the button for 30 seconds. The lamp will then lock in this light color and subsequently dim in that color.

  • Multiple Buttons: Some lamps have multiple buttons, one for dimming and one for adjusting the light color. There are various names for this function.

My Lamp Gets Very Hot, Is This Normal?

In the past, we used halogen and incandescent bulbs, which became very hot. The design of these lamps had to take into account that all the materials used could withstand the heat. Nowadays, we mostly use LED lamps, which can also get quite warm. The rule of thumb is that an LED lamp should never get hotter than 70 degrees Celsius. For your information, this temperature feels very hot to the touch. An LED lamp that exceeds 70 degrees will have a shorter lifespan.

So, it's normal for lamps to get warm. If you are concerned about the heat of your lamp, please contact our customer service or visit one of our retail locations.

How Can I Dim My Lamp?

Many of our fixtures are equipped with built-in dimmers, which can be controlled using buttons on the fixture. These buttons usually operate as follows:

  • Press the button briefly to turn the lamp on or off.
  • Press and hold the button to adjust the brightness up or down.

If your lamp does not have a built-in dimmer, it can often be dimmed using an external dimmer. For advice on which external dimmer is suitable for your fixture, please refer to our service or sales points.

Please note: If a lamp has an integrated dimmer, it is usually not possible to dim it with an external dimmer.

How Can I Clean My Lamp?

To clean your lamp, you can use the following methods depending on the type of dirt:

  • Dust: It's best to use a dry cloth to gently remove dust from the lamp. This is the safest and easiest way to keep your lamp clean.

  • Grease Stains: If there are grease or stubborn stains on the lamp, you can use a cloth lightly dampened with lukewarm water and a small amount of mild soap (like green soap). Wipe away the dirt gently and then thoroughly dry the lamp with a clean cloth.

Please note: Avoid using chemical cleaners as they may damage the lamp. For safety, ensure the lamp is turned off and cool before starting to clean it.
